Frequently Asked Questions

We're known for our great support, and for taking care of all your needs on tour. If you have any questions, the answers might be here. If they aren't, please contact us.

How do I book my tour?

Just follow the simple instructions on our secure online booking page.

How do I pay for my tour?

Our preferred payment option is by credit card (Visa or MasterCard) via our secure online booking page. Please contact the Global Adventure Guide team if you wish to pay using a different method.

NOTE: We do not accept American Express.

Can I share a room to avoid a single room supplement?

Yes. Just select the twin share room option when booking. Where possible we will pair you with another person of the same sex.

What languages to the guides speak?

It depends on the tour and location, but mainly English, German, Spanish, Dutch and Italian. A guide fluent in the local language will always be present. Please contact the Global Adventure Guide team if you have specific language speaking requirements.

What age and nationalities are the participants?

It varies from tour to tour. Generally the age range is from 2–65, with a mixture of clients from the US, UK, Australasia and Europe. Everybody is welcome on our tours, and the mixture of ages and nationalities on our tour groups is something we value and our participants enjoy.

Can children join your tours?

Yes, children are most welcome on many tours. However, some tours are unsuitable for children. Please contact us with the age and fitness of your child along with the tours you are considering, and we will happily advise on suitability.

Are flights included?

International flights are not included in the tour itineraries or the tour price. International flights must be arranged either by yourself or a travel agent. Domestic flights are included on some tours. These are specified in tour itineraries and included in the tour price.

How do I book my own international flights?

We recommend using the internet or a travel agent.

What is included in Global Adventure Guide tours?

Each itinerary has its own list of inclusions. Most tours include:

  • tour guide(s)
  • accommodation
  • some meals (as specified)
  • airport transfers on arrival and departure days
  • a support vehicle.

The following are NOT included in our prices or on our itineraries:

  • spending money
  • some meals (as specified)
  • optional tour extensions or activities
  • bike hire if not bringing own bike

How and when should I exchange money for use on the tour?

We recommend you obtain local currency before you arrive in a country, or else on arrival. Money exchange is not always available once the tour has started.

Do I need travel insurance?

We strongly recommend comprehensive travel insurance from Travelsure.

How many days should I allow before and after the tour for flights?

We recommend arriving at least the day before the tour, to allow for acclimatisation, sightseeing, and a good night’s sleep to recover from jetlag. For long international flights, 2 extra days would allow for unexpected flight delays.

What if I need accommodation not in the itinerary?

Global Adventure Guide can book pre- and post-tour accommodation for you.

Can you book tours and excursions pre- or post-tour?

Email us your requests and we will try to assist.

Do I need to bring a bike?

We recommend you bring your own bike, especially on mountain bike tours. In many destinations we can supply rental bikes, but we would still recommend you bring your own. We only supply normal pedals so if you prefer clipless, please bring your own.

NOTE: Due to the varied range of bikes and components available in different countries, we cannot guarantee that parts will be available for the bike you bring. We recommend that you bring your own spares, and ensure your bike is fully maintained prior to departure.

How far do we bike each day? Are there options to bike more or less?

Each day’s distance will be listed in the itinerary where possible. Most days we will have a support vehicle available, so you can opt to bike less than the stated distance. Alternatively if you wish to bike more, let your guide know so it can be arranged where possible.
