This really does depend on the tour you are doing. Please contact us for more information specifically relevant to your tour. In many destinations we can supply rental bikes, but we may still recommend you bring your own. We only supply normal pedals so if you prefer clipless, please bring your own. For your comfort you may also wish to bring your own seat.
NOTE: Due to the varied range of bikes and components available in different countries, we cannot guarantee that parts will be available for the bike you bring. We recommend that you bring your own spares, and ensure your bike is fully maintained prior to departure.

Explanation of Global Adventure Guide Tour GradingsYou must pack your bike carefully to protect it in transit. (For transport during the tour we prefer cardboard bike boxes or soft bike bags rather than the hard plastic style).
How to pack your bike securelyThis depends on the country, tour and availability. Please email us for further information once you have selected your tour.
Normally, yes but not always guaranteed. Just select the twin share room option when booking. Where possible we will pair you with another person of the same sex.
You have the option to pay by direct credit into our bank account or by credit card (Visa or MasterCard) via our secure online booking page.

It varies from tour to tour. Everybody is welcome on our tours, and the mixture of ages and nationalities on our tour groups is something we value and our participants enjoy.
It depends on the tour and location. A guide fluent in the local language and English will always be present. Please contact the Global Adventure Guide team if you have specific language speaking requirements.
Yes. Helmets are compulsory on our tours, and are a legal requirement for biking in most countries. For health and safety reasons we recommend you bring your own helmet.
We recommend using the internet or a travel agent.
Each tour is graded for its level of difficulty.
Explanation of Global Adventure Guide tour gradingsInternational flights are not included in the tour itineraries or the tour price. International flights must be arranged either by yourself or a travel agent. Domestic flights are included on some tours and will be specified in each itinerary if it is included or not.

Yes. We can customise tours for small or large groups, families and even large charity tour groups of 80+ participants. Please contact us to discuss your requirements.
We recommend arriving at least the day before the tour, to allow for acclimatisation, sightseeing, and a good night’s sleep to recover from jetlag. For long international flights, 2 extra days would allow for unexpected flight delays.
Requirements such as clothing and other equipment will vary for each tour. In your supplementary trip notes the requirements will be listed.

Yes. As long as the tour has more than 2 places left, you can hold a place for up to 7 days. After this you must pay your 25% non-refundable deposit to confirm your place.
Comprehensive travel insurance is compulsory. If your are a New Zealand or Australian residents please contact us for information on Cover-More Travel Insurance.

Most days we will have a support vehicle available (for guided tours), so you can opt to bike less than the stated distance. Alternatively if you wish to bike more, let your guide know so it can be arranged where possible.

We plan our departures for the best times of year for tours of our locations. Climate information is detailed in your trip notes. Ask us in advance or alternatively once you book climate information will be outlined.
Yes, we have a regular newsletter covering news from all our tours. To subscribe to our newsletter simply complete the form on the bottom of our web pages throughout the site.
We recommend you obtain local currency prior to arriving in a country. Money exchange may not always be available once the tour has started.
Yes, children are most welcome on many tours. However, some tours are unsuitable for children. Please contact us with the age and fitness of your child along with the tours you are considering, and we will happily advise on suitability.
