Q: How do I book my tour?
A: You can book ‘on line’ by clicking here to access our ‘on line’ booking page
Q: How do I pay for my tour?
A: You can pay ‘on line’ using your Credit Card on our secure booking page.
Q: What Credit Cards can I use?
A: Visa or Mastercard.
Q: I am traveling alone, can I share a room with somebody else to avoid the single supplement?
A: Yes, just select ‘twin share’ room and we will attempt to pair you
up with another single person of the same sex where possible.
Q: What languages do the tour guides speak?
A: Depends on the tour and location, but mainly English
and German. Spanish, Dutch and Italian are spoken by some guides as
well as other dialects. A guide will always be present that is fluent
in the local language. Please email us if you have specific language
speaking requirements.
Q: What age and Nationalities are the participants?
A: This can vary from tour to tour, but generally the
age range is from 20-65 with a mixture of clients from the US, UK,
Australasia and Europe. Everybody is welcome on our tours and the
mixture of ages and nationalities is one of the great things about tour
groups.
Q: Can children join your tours?
A: Yes children are welcome on some of our tours but
not all are suitable for children. Please contact us with the age and
fitness of your child along with the tours you are considering and we
are happy to advise the suitability.
Q: Are flights included?
A: International flights are not included and need to be arranged
either by yourself or a travel agent. Tours with domestic flights are
only included where specified for each Tour.
Q: How do I book my own flights?
A: We recommend using the internet or your local travel agent.
Q: What is included in the tour?
A: Each itinerary will have a list of inclusions. Typically this includes:
-
Tour Guides
-
Accommodation
-
Some meals – as specified
-
Airport Transfers on arrival and departure days Support Vehicle/s
Not included:
-
Spending money
-
Some meals – as specified
-
Optional extensions or activities
-
Bike hire if not bringing own bike
Q: How do I exchange money on arrival?
A: We recommend you obtain local currency either before you arrive in
the country or on arrival. Due to the diverse nature of our tours money
exchange is not always available once the tour has started.
Q: Do I need travel insurance?
A: Yes, we strongly recommend comprehensive travel insurance
Q: How many days should I allow before and after the tour for flights?
A: We recommend arriving at least the day before the
tour to allow for acclimatization, sightseeing and a good nights sleep
to recover from jetlag. For long international flights, 2 extra days
would allow for unexpected flight delays.
Q: What if I need additional accommodation not in the itinerary?
A: We can book pre and post tour accommodation for you.
Q: Can you book tours and excursions pre or post tour?
A: Email us with your requests and we will try to assist.
Q: Do I need to bring a bike?
A:.
We recommend you bring your own bike, especially on mountain bike
tours. In many destinations we can supply rental bikes, but we would
still recommend you bring your own. Even if hiring one of our bikes we
still recommend you bring your own saddle and pedals. We only supply
normal pedals so if you prefer clipless, please bring your own.
Note: Due to the diverse range of bikes and components available around the world
we cannot guarantee parts will be available for all makes and models. If in doubt
you should bring your own spares and ensure your bike is fully maintained prior
to departure. Click here for a maintenance
sheet for pre tour checks, and here for a list of recommended spare parts to bring.
Q: What type of rental bikes to you have?
A: This depends on the country, tour and availability. Please email us
for further information once you have selected which tour you would
like to participate on.
Q: What sort of bike would you recommend I bring with me?
A: This depends on which tour you are considering – we can help to advise you.
Road Tours
Suitable
Bikes: Road Bikes, Hybrids or Mountain Bikes (with slicks or semi
slicks). Hybrids and Mountain bikes give you a more upright riding
style and are more designed for comfort.
Mountain Bike Tours
Suitable
Bikes: Either hardtails (front suspension only) or softails (full
suspension). Due to the offroad nature of mountain biking we recommend
some form of suspension.
Q: Do I need a bike helmet?
A: Yes, helmets are recommended (and compulsory in some countries). We recommend you bring your own helmet, gloves and shoes.
Q: How do I transport my bike to and from the Tour?
A: Transporting your bike requires some preparation to ensure it is in
good condition when it arrives, baggage handlers worldwide can be rough with luggage.
Click here for a packing overview on how
to pack your bike securely.
Q: What do I need to bring with me?
A: Requirements will vary for each tour and will be included with your
booking confirmation sheet. If you are bringing your own bike, click
here for a list of spare parts to bring.
Q: How fit do I need to be? Are there many hills?
A: Tours are graded so you can gauge the
difficulty. Where possible we have included altitude graphs so you can view how
much climbing there will be each day. Remember there is nearly always a support
vehicle.
Q: What will the weather be like, when is the best time to come?
A: We plan our departures to coincide with the best
time of year for tours. Climate information will be detailed in each
itinerary.
Q: What do the gradings mean?
A: Each tour is graded to indicate its level of difficulty. Gradings
are: 1 – Easy, 2 – Moderate, 3 – Challenging 4 – Extreme.
Q: How many Km’s per day do we bike? Is there an option to bike more or less?
A: Where possible each days distance will be indicated
in the itinerary. Most days will have a support vehicle which means you
can opt to bike less than the stated km’s. Depending on the tour, if
you wish to bike more you can let our guide know and we can arrange for
this where possible.
Q: Can you accommodate vegans or those with food allergies?
A: Yes, please email us any special requirements and we
will endeavor to meet these. Where this is not possible we will notify
you in advance so alternative arrangement can be made.
Q: Can you customize tours?
A: Yes We have experience in customizing tours for
small or large groups, families, and even large charity tour groups of
80 participants.
Q: What if the country I want to go to is not listed
A: As we are often adding Tours to new countries send us an email and we can let you know what new tours may be coming up.
Q: What if I can’t make the whole tour and only wish to take part in some of the tour?
A: It may be possible to just join for part of a Tour.
Send us an email with your preferred dates and we will advise if it is
possible.
Q: Do you have hotel contact details for the tours?
A: Hotel lists are supplied in advance – usually when we send your booking confirmation.
Q: Do you have a newsletter I can sign up to?
